The Horse and the Pig - (07/31/05)

A farmer who collected horses wanted one of a special breed to complete his collection. One day, he found out that his neighbor had the one he needed. So he purchased the neighbor's horse. One month later, the horse got sick and he called the veterinarian.
“Your horse has a virus and needs to take medicine for 3 days, on the third day I will return and see how he's doing and if he doesn’t get better, we’ll have to do away with him” said the vet. At that moment, the pig was listening.

The horse was medicated and the pig approached him and said: ‘Be strong, friend. Stand up, if not, they will kill you.” On the second day, the horse was medicated again and they left. The pig approached the horse again and said: “Come on, my friend, stand up because if you don’t, they will sacrifice you. Come on… I will help you, one, two, and three…”
On the next day, after giving the medicine, the vet said: “Unfortunately we’ll need to kill him tomorrow, because the virus may infect the other horses.

When they left, the pig approached the horse and said: “Man, it’s now or never! Be strong, yes, slowly...great, ok, one, two, and three. Run! Yes!”
Suddenly, the owner saw the horse running on the field and shouted: “A miracle! The horse got better! It deserves a celebration. Let’s kill the pig”.

Point of reflection: It happens frequently in the work environment, in families and in the church. Nobody recognizes when you help. “To know how to live without being recognized is an art”. Remember also: Amateurs constructed Noah’s ark, professionals constructed the Titanic.
Try to be a person of value instead of being a person of success.
Remember that in the Kingdom of God you don’t work to please people but to please God.
