The Non-Tithing Service - 05/30/04

How would be a church formed by people who don’t believe in the practice of tithing? Let’s see some characteristics of this church:

  • 01. They would hardly have a place to meet. Money is needed to buy or to rent a place. But maybe they would get some place for free.
  • 02. It would be a service without a pastor. There are no resources to keep a pastor or music minister. Those blessed messages of comfort, challenge and edifying music wouldn’t be there.
  • 03. It would be a place with no seats, no electric energy and no cleaning. Everybody has to stand, no lights, no air conditioning, no heat and a very dirty environment.
  • 04. There would be no Sunday school. Where would the money come from to buy resources like magazines, tables, pencils or paper?
  • 05. It would be a service with no bibles. Yes, because in Malachi and in II Corinthians the bible orients us to give tithes. It would be incoherent if we use some books of the bible and ignore others.
  • 06. It would be a service without life. Tithing is a consequence of a total life dedication. There would be no joy, feeling of gratitude and submission to God.
  • 07. There would be no missions. There would be no resources to support missionaries and bring people to Christ.

If you haven’t participated of the Kingdom of God with your financial resources, pray now. Embrace a challenge of dedicating everything that you have, starting with your life, to Jesus Christ.
