In all areas of our lives, our tendency is to idealize.

We imagine a perfect family. We desire a career that gives us satisfaction. We dream about being surrounded by friendly people.

In the church where we congregate isn’t different. What is the ideal church for a pastor? A church with a full attendance in a prayer meeting during the week. Everyone giving their tithes. It’s good to know that his sheep pray, read the bible and witnesses everyday. But in reality it isn’t like this.

What is the ideal pastor for the church? It’s a man who is always happy, has always a right word for a right moment. He preaches powerful messages every Sunday and visits all members of the church. His devotional, financial and family life is an example. But this isn’t the reality.

Our great challenge is to face the reality and to overcome the barriers of obtaining the ideal church.

We have the best resources which are the resources God gives us to be a church that is each day more like the church that Jesus planned for us.
