The Power of Ressurrection - (03/27/05 - Night)
Text: Luke 24

Introduction:

Luke 24:11
The apostles, who heard Jesus himself speak about resurrection, did not believe.
They thought the women were crazy.
Nowadays, it is not very different. Thousands do not believe in resurrection.

01. Opens the tomb. Luke 24:2
Matthew 28:2-4. It was the work of an angel.
Matthew 28:11-15. The soldiers were bribed.

02. Opens the eyes. Luke 24:31
The longest sermon of Jesus, which probably lasted two hours, was for two people.
It is a supernatural fact. Men finally have their eyes open.
They were not physically blind, but were spiritually blind.

03. Opens the scriptures. Luke 24:32
Since the Old Testament, the Word of God announces Jesus coming to be the Savior of the world.
It is all in the Word of God.

04. Opens the minds (understanding). Luke 24:45
The message does “the longest way”.
It is the way that goes from the mind until the heart.

05. Opens the heaven. Luke 24:51
John 14:2 is fulfilled.
It is time to leave. Jesus left ahead.

Conclusion:
The evangelists narrate facts. They do not seek to prove resurrection.
The birth of Jesus, His life, His death, His resurrection.
It is a matter of faith. Of believing or not believing. It is up to you.
Illustration. John 20:24. Thomas. He represents the “group of incredulous”.
Illustration. Matthew 28:6-9. The women. They represent the group of those who believe.
In the temple, the priest would offer sacrifice. He would then pray for the people.

He would present himself before the people and would say: “Peace be with you”. John 20:19.
Jesus, in His resurrection, does the same.
With an enormous difference. He was the one who died. There was no other lamb.
