Text: Genesis 25:24-27.

Introduction.

-Isaac married Rebekah when he was 40 years old. Genesis 25:20
-They had a great problem.Rebekah was barren.
-The only way out was through prayer. Genesis 25:21
- His father Abraham waited for a son for 25 years.
-Isaac went through the same test.He waited for 20 years. ( Genesis 25:20 and Genesis 25:26. ) 
- Genesis 25:22: "And the children struggled with each other in her womb."
- Genesis 25:26 : "Then the other child was born with his hand grasping Esau's heel." 
- Jacob means "he grasps the heel". One who always wins.Since he was in his mother's womb.

1) Jacob at his parents' house

- Genesis 25: 28 . There was a preference issue within the family.
- Genesis 25:29-34 . Jacob buys Esau's birthright. 
-The rights as the first-born:
a) The inheritance would be doubled after his father's death.
b) The right to be the spiritual leader in the family (high priest)
c) To be among the Savior's descendants (through Abraham)
- Hebrews 12:16-17 He sought his blessing afterwards.But he had already lost it.
-Jacob stole Esau's blessing when Isaac was 137 years old.)
( Genesis 27: 34-38)
-The atmosphere at Isaac 's home was unbearable.
-Dissension,jealousy,hatred ,tears....
- Genesis 27:41b "and I will kill my brother Jacob."

2) Jacob at his uncle's , Laban.

- Genesis 29:13-16
-Jacob spent 7 years working for Rachel but he gets Leah instead.
- Laban did to him the same thing he and his mother had done to Esau.
-He works 7 more years for Rachel.
- Genesis 30:37-43 . Jacob steals the best of Laban's flock.
- Genesis 31: 1-2 He had a quarrel with Laban's sons as well.
- Genesis 31:38-41 "The final settlement between Jacob and Laban"
-The movie's title" Deceiving and being deceived".

3) Jacob in the house of God.

- Genesis 28:16-17. He had a dream while he was running away from home.
-Bethel=the house of God.
-Jacob made a vow: Genesis 28:20-22. He even promises do give God a tenth of everything.
- Genesis 32:30 . 'Peniel,because I have seen God face to face.'
- Genesis 32:24 . He fights a man sent by God.
-He fights his family,his cousins and uncle,and even God.

Conclusion.

-If are always deceiving people,you 'll make enemies.
- Genesis 31: 43-55. Jacob and Laban make peace during a meal.( verse 46 ).
- Genesis 33: 1-4. Esau,with a free heart, ran to meet Jacob,who was afraid.
-What was Jacob's problem? Himself.
-He runs away from Esau,from Laban.It's time to stop fighting.
-At the very moment Jacob accepts God's discipline,his character is deeply changed.God changed him where he needed the most.
-God saved us to change our sinful character.He wants us to be more like Jesus.
-Today's invitation is: Stop fighting.Stop quarreling.
- Genesis 32:31 . God wants you to have His mark as well.
