We found the Messiah - (11/14/04-night)

Text: John 1:35-42

Introduction

“ John was there with two of his disciples”

John the Baptist the believer who was seeking the second place.

John 1:26 “the things of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.”

John 3:30 “He must become greater, I must become less."

The word leader does not appear in the New Testament

 Just the word servant

A)What do you want? V. 37

  “Jesus saw them following”

He knows you. He knows what’s going on in your heart now.

Jesus’ question today is the same: What do you want?

B) Rabbi, where are you staying? V.38

It looks like that John; the writer of this gospel was the one who was with Andrew.

They did not only want to greed Jesus. They wanted to meet him.

The tenth hour. 4 in the afternoon

“...and spent the day with him...”

John even remembered the time of his first meeting with Jesus.

How about you? What do you remember from your walk with Jesus?

Conclusion

John 1:42: “You are Simon, will be called Peter.”

Simon means “stick,” Peter means “rock”

Illustration: Michelangelo was working with a hard piece of marble”

Someone asked him: What are you doing?

“I am freeing the angel that is in this marble”

This is the work that only Jesus can do in us, a total transformation.

“We found the Messiah.” It is the greatest finding that can occur to someone.
Did you find Jesus?

Jeremiah 29:13, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart.”
