Introduction

• The wheat is crushed in order to become bread.
• The grape is crushed in order to become wine.

• John 1:11 – Rejected by His own people. Rejection, the worst feeling.
• Matthew 8:31 – Jesus was aware of his mission.

• Matthews 4:1-2 - Where we fail, Jesus succeeded. ( I Peter 3:11 )

• John 16:32 “you will be scattered” “You will leave me all alone”
• The ones who He could count the most.

• Luke 22:44 – To the point of sweating blood in a night of intense cold. ( I Peter 3:55 )

• Luke 23:33 and Luke 23:46 – Crucifixion was the worst type of death.
• Symbol of union between divine and human.

Conclusion

• The greatest suffering was the spiritual suffering. Isaiah 53:5
• What is the result of this suffering? Ephesians 2:13 , Ephesians 2:18 , Ephesians 3:12
• Our reconciliation with God.
