Introduction

1.	I am the bread of life. John 6:35

2.	I am the light of the world. John 8:12

3.	Before Abraham ... I am. John 8:58

4.	I am the good shepherd. John 10:11

5.	I am the resurrection and the life. John 11:25

6.	I am the way, the truth and the life. John 14:6

7.	I am the true vine. John 15:1

We start today a series of 7 lessons in this Jesus’ word: I AM Who are the parable’s characters : God: The farmer. Jesus : The vine. We: The vine’s branches.
In the Old Testament Israel was the vineyard of the Lord: Isaiah 5:7 and Jeremiah 2:21
Always seen in terms of degeneration. Why? Because Israel failed as a nation to bring salvation to the world.
Jesus is the “true vine”.
John 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches” 3 kind of branches:

01.	Branches that produce nothing. Ex: Judas. Lucas 22:1-6

02.	Branches that produce a few. Ex: Demas. II Timothy 4:10

03.	Branches that produce a lot

John 15:5b. “apart from me you can do nothing”

From verse 4 to verse 10, the word “remain” appears 10 times.
How do we maintain this relationship, Jesus and I? John 15:6 – With Judgement – responsibility. John 15:3 – With grace – privilege. There is a balance between these two truths.
For 3 years, I have waited the vine to produce. Luke13:6-7
If it did not produce, it would be cut.
Application: One more year, another great opportunity to produce fruits.
Why is there a need to clean? ( John 15:2 ) The idea is here to trim, which improves the quality to produce more fruits. That’s the farmer’s work, God.
“Remain in me...” ( John 15:4 ). “Apart from me...” ( John 15:5b )
It’s Jesus’ orientation for each one of us.
