Text: Genesis 40:1-5

Introduction

  • Genesis 39:9 . It shows the reason why Joseph went to the prison.
  • The sin has its price
  • Integrity: What God thinks about me.
  • Reputation: What people think about me.
  • The ideal is that both thoughts combine.
  • A secret sin is an open scandalous in heaven.

  • Hebrews 1:1-2 . He spoke at various times…in these last days He speaks by His son.
  • Does God make use of dreams to speak nowadays? Yes, He does it.
  • But it isn’t a rule. Be careful so you don’t forget the bible and seek only for dreams.
B) THE BUTLER’S DREAM. Genesis 40:9-13

  • Genesis 40:18 . It’s a word of death.
  • Joseph’s responsibility as the interpreter of the dreams.
  • Illustration: The prophet who dreamed in RJ.
  • The great responsibility related to the dreams is the interpretation.

Conclusion

  • Genesis 40:6 – They were sad.
  • Application: People are sad today. Without answers.
  • Today, God counts on you.
  • But a faithful believer was there: Joseph. He had a message for them.
  • Illustration: Jeremiah 37:16-17 . In prison, Jeremiah had a message.
  • He turned up before the King and He was faithful.
