What is Christian meditation? - (08/22/04)

Text: Psalm 1:1-2

Introduction.

  • There are two ways to understand the meditation:
1. If you believe that we live in a purely physical universe, the meditation is the environment for be achieved a consistent standard of wave cerebral alpha. Barely a human experience.
2. If you believe that we live in a universe created by the personal infinite God, that is pleased of our communion with Him, then meditation is the meeting of creature and the creator. A meeting of the divine with the human.
  • The oriental religions have taken in the habit of meditation completely.
  • Christian meditation is the attempt of deflate the mind in order to refill it.

A) Today’s meditation.
  • We Live in a world dominated by the noise, haste and crowds.

  • Jesus meditated? Yes. He had the Word in his heart.
