Content:
- Ex 02:01-02: A fine boy is born to a Levi family and is hidden for 3 months avoiding being killed by the Pharaoh’s last genocide orders to the Hebrews.
- Ex 02:03: After no longer being able to hide the boy the parents build an ark, placed the boy in and let it go on the river.
- Ex 02:04: The boy’s sister observed from far what would happen to the baby.
- Ex 02:05-06: The Pharaoh’s daughter spots the baby in the river and retrieves the baby. She felt compassionate.
- Ex 02:07: The boy’s sister suggests to Pharaoh’s daughter to bring a Hebrew women to nurse the baby.
- Ex 02:08-09: Pharaoh’s daughter changes suggestion into action and end up unknowingly hiring the boy’s mother to take and nurse the baby.
- Ex 02:10: The boy grew older and was taken back to Pharaoh’s daughter. He became her son and was named Moses.
Divisions:
- Ex 02:01-03: After 3 months not being able to hide the baby any longer the Levi parents let the fine baby go into the river..
- Ex 02:04-07: From afar the baby’s sister watches the baby destiny and after seeing the Pharaoh’s daughter spotting and retrieving the boy, she suggests calling a Hebrew women to nurse the baby.
- Ex 02:08-10: Pharaoh’s daughter turns suggestion into action. The boy is taken to be nursed by own mother for a wage and after he grew older he was taken back to Pharaoh’s daughter. The boy became her son and was named Moses.
Subject Sentence:
Protected and watched over, baby Moses’s life is spared miraculously.
Aim:
To cause people to realize that when we no longer can hide/protect God, even though apparently in silence, is present all the time and against all odds He protects those He chooses – those who will serve Him.
Applications Questions -
Division 1:
- When you no longer can hide something (an attitude, a sin, an affliction, etc.) how do you let it go trusting that God is in control of all the circumstances?
- How are you guiding your children (or family member, friend, other) into the waves that will lead them to God?
- Moses parents kept the faith in God despite little knowledge and resources about God at that time (400 year without hearing from God, no scriptures, oppression, etc.). How are you allowing yourself to drift away from God today despite of scriptures and resources availability and the presence of the Holy Spirit? How are you taking advantage of this resources to advance the purpose God gave you?
Division 2:
- How are you suggesting others to save their own or somebody else’s lives?
- When God seems to be in silence how do you know He is present?
Division 3:
- How are you leading others to turn your Bible based suggestions into action?
- How have you observed God using non-believers for his cause?
- How do you behave amongst non-believers (pagans)?
